Russian special operation in Ukraine
Kyiv attacks on nuclear facilities are leading the world to a nuclear catastrophe. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya. He added that the radiation background at the Zaporozhye NPP is still normal, but if the strikes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue, then this is a matter of time.
Earlier, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Ivan Nechaev spoke about this. According to him, the consequences of Ukraine’s shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which occurred on August 7, could lead to a catastrophe, which, according to the consequences, will be worse than the Chernobyl accident. However, on the evening of August 12, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced that there was no immediate threat to nuclear safety at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
