Residents of the Magadan region remain without electricity for the second day due to bad weather
Magadan, December 1, 2022, 06:30 — REGNUM About a thousand residents of the villages of Talon, Tauisk and Balagannoye, as well as one of the microdistricts of Magadan, remain without power for the second day due to bad weather. This was announced on December 1 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Magadan Region.
The second snow cyclone in a week brought strong winds and a snowstorm to the Magadan region. Due to snow sticking to the power lines, the power supply of several settlements was disrupted. In total, 988 people were left without electricity.
As specified in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a team of electricians has already begun restoration work. Specialists work in the private sector of the city of Magadan, after clearing the roads, the brigade will leave for those areas where it is necessary to restore the supply of electricity.
Due to the bad weather in the region, school classes have been canceled, many flights have been delayed, intercity bus service has been partially stopped, and highways are being cleared. In Magadan, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on duty on the streets, providing assistance to drivers caught in snowdrifts.
