Navjot Singh Sidhu, who created panic from Punjab to Delhi by resigning as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, has finally agreed to talks and has accepted the offer of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Sidhu, who has stood by his decision till now, has agreed to talks, which is expected whether the Punjab war will end now? Navjot Singh Sidhu himself has informed about this by tweeting that he will reach Punjab Bhawan at 3 pm today and talk to the Chief Minister. Let us inform that Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had a telephonic conversation with the angry Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday and offered talks to resolve the issues.

Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted from his official Twitter handle, ‘Chief Minister has invited me for a conversation… Will reach Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh at 3:00 PM today. They are welcome for any discussion!’ It is believed that the Congress high command has distanced itself from Sidhu for talks, due to which Sidhu has now agreed to talks. Let us inform that earlier in an effort to persuade Sidhu, several leaders including ministers Pargat Singh, Amarinder Singh Raja Vading had met him at his residence in Patiala and urged Sidhu to work to strengthen the party.

CM Channi, who proposed talks, had said on Wednesday that the party is paramount and the government follows the party’s ideology. He told reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, “I spoke to Sidhu sahib on telephone today. The party is paramount and the government accepts and follows the ideology of the party. (I told him) you should come and sit and talk.’ “If you (Sidhu) find something wrong, you can point it out and the (state) president is the head of the party,” he said. The chief should sit in the middle of the family.

Actually, Sidhu has created a new crisis in the Congress by resigning. He broke his silence on Wednesday and questioned the appointment of Director General of Police, State Advocate General and “tainted” leaders. On Wednesday, in a video message posted on his Twitter handle, Sidhu said that he is a principled leader and he will never compromise on seven of his principles. He said in the video, ‘This is not a personal fight but a fight of principles. I will not compromise on principles and I will fight for truth till my last breath. I cannot mislead the high command nor allow it to be misguided. I can make any sacrifice for the people of Punjab, but I will not compromise on my principles.
