NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, commenting on the UK’s statement about plans to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with depleted uranium ammunition, said that the members of the alliance “follow international law in their support for Ukraine.”
“NATO members follow international rules and law in everything they do in support of Ukraine,” – Stoltenberg answered Agence France-Presse when asked about London’s plans and the corresponding reaction of Russia.
Recall, on March 21, Deputy Minister of Defense of Great Britain Annabelle Goldie confirmed the transfer of ammunition with depleted uranium to Ukraine.
“Along with providing Ukraine with a squadron of Challenger 2 battle tanks, we will supply ammunition, including armor-piercing shells containing depleted uranium,” Goldie said.
According to the Deputy Minister of the British Ministry of Defense, “such shells are very effective for destroying modern tanks and armored personnel carriers.”
