Mutko: subsidized mortgage on the “secondary” will cause a jump in prices

The general director of Dom.RF, Vitaly Mutko, said that the issue of preferential mortgages for secondary housing should be approached with caution. According to him, the introduction of preferential mortgages for the “secondary” may lead to a sharp rise in prices, as was the case with the primary market. The head of Dom.RF told reporters about this, his words are quoted by “RIA Real Estate”.

“Here it is necessary (to approach the question.— “b”) very carefully. There, the price will react instantly. We gave opportunities in the primary market, and the price flew away instantly,” said Vitaly Mutko.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin (Mutko’s successor in this post) proposed to work out the issue of supporting mortgages in the secondary housing market. “It is important to support not only new housing, but also to find a mechanism to quickly start supporting the financing of secondary housing,”— declared Mr. Khusnullin at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council on June 21.

Dom.RF is a financial development institution in the housing sector. Vitaly Mutko took over in January 2020.

The volume of housing commissioning in Russia does not deviate from the average monthly level, but for the second month in a row they are inferior to the indicators of 2021.
