The large-scale renewal of the Maryino district is planned to be completed in the fall, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.

They began to put in order the territory around the ponds-regulators – a cascade of 16 small reservoirs located along the Novocherkassky, Maryinsky and Perervinsky boulevards.

They protect the area from flooding during heavy rains and floods and regulate the level of the Moskva River, the mayor explained.

A comfortable recreation zone will be created near the ponds, wide sidewalks will be made, decking decking will be installed along the water and benches with lanterns will be placed. Sports grounds with exercise equipment, ping-pong and chess tables, as well as a children’s play complex with slides, swings and climbing structures will appear on the territory.

Near the ponds, a lawn will be made on an area of ​​​​more than 250 thousand square meters, flower beds, trees and shrubs will be planted. The main works are planned to be completed by autumn.

Earlier in Zelenograd, they began to improve the territory near the MCD-3 Kryukovo station.
