Moscow exchange stopped trading in the Swiss franc

The Moscow Exchange announced that as of today, June 14, it has suspended trading in the Swiss franc. These measures affected the Swiss franc-Russian ruble and dollar-Swiss franc currency pairs in exchange and over-the-counter modes.

The exchange explained the decision by “difficulties in making settlements in Swiss francs” due to Swiss sanctions. “Fulfillment of obligations under previously concluded transactions continues as usual. At the same time, it is possible to increase the terms for crediting Swiss francs to customer accounts,” the statement says. press release Moscow Exchange.

On June 10, Switzerland joined the sixth package of EU sanctions imposed in response to the Russian military operation in Ukraine. In particular, the Swiss authorities also approved an embargo on Russian oil and oil products, and will also impose personal sanctions on 100 Russians and Belarusians.
