Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced a one-trillion-dollar investment commitment during a meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump, stressing that Riyadh offers no false promises to please Washington. He said Saudi Arabia will not join the Abraham Accords without a two-state solution for the Palestinian issue.

Trump hosted the Crown Prince at the White House with a grand reception, marked by an F-35 and F-15 fighter jet display. During talks in the Oval Office, Trump asked Riyadh to expand its U.S. investment from sixty billion dollars to one trillion dollars—an appeal the Crown Prince accepted immediately.

Following the signing of a new strategic defense pact, Trump announced plans to sell F-35 fighter jets to Riyadh and described Saudi Arabia as America’s most trusted partner outside NATO. “I feel honored to call you my friend,” Trump said. “I am truly grateful for this one-trillion-dollar investment. It brings real excitement. This is great news.”

Asked whether Saudi Arabia could maintain such investment despite falling oil prices, Mohammed bin Salman responded that Riyadh never issues empty promises. He said the kingdom has rising demand for computing capacity and plans to spend nearly fifty billion dollars in the short term, with long-term opportunities reaching hundreds of billions under its agreements with the United States.

A journalist raised the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi. Trump defended the Crown Prince, claiming he had no prior knowledge of the incident. Mohammed bin Salman called the killing a tragic loss of life and described it as a grave mistake.

On the Palestinian question, he reiterated that Riyadh would join the Abraham Accords only after a two-state solution. He also pledged support for Gaza’s reconstruction.
