More than 60% of the members of the British Conservative Party are going to vote in the election of a new prime minister for Foreign Minister Liz Truss. Such results were shown by a survey of the marketing research agency Opinium.
61% of conservatives are going to vote for Truss. For ex-Finance Minister Rishi Sunak, 39% of respondents intend to vote. The survey was conducted from 8 to 12 August. A total of 570 members of the British Conservative Party were polled. The statistical error of the study is not indicated.
Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak reached the finals in the election of party leader in the fifth round of voting among parliamentarians from the Conservative Party. In the last round, all members of the party will choose the winner.
