At least 33 people were victims of an armed attack by militants on a village in Burkina Faso. The agency reported AFP.
According to the source, armed men attacked residents of the peaceful village of Yulu in the northwestern part of the country.
“The militants broke into the village on motorcycles and opened indiscriminate fire on the inhabitants. They turned out to be well-armed,” the article said.
The governor of the region noted that after the bloody tragedy, law enforcement officers will strengthen security measures in the area.
Since the beginning of the year, a string of terrorist attacks on civilians has taken place in the African country. According to the publication, six groups are fighting for influence. Of these, approximately 50,000 people joined the Islamic State*.
Amid the attacks, the official government of Burkina Faso announced a general mobilization in April.
