Children’s Ombudsman of the Moscow Region Ksenia Mishonova announced statistics on children falling out of apartment windows. Since the beginning of April, there have already been 27 such accidents in the region.
Among the victims are children aged 18 months to 10 years. Four of them leaned on the mosquito net and fell out with it.
“In April-May alone, 27 children fell out of windows in the Moscow region, four of them, unfortunately, died. This happened in Podolsk, Balashikha, Odintsovo and Domodedovo,” Mishonova specified.
According to statistics, most often tragic cases of children falling out of windows occur in the most ordinary, prosperous families. Commissioner for Children’s Rights Ksenia Mishonova urged parents not to lose vigilance and install blockers on windows – such devices are cheap, but at the right time they can save a child’s life. According to the Ombudsman, this is the best protection against such accidents.
Since the beginning of the year, 31 children have fallen out of windows in the Moscow region. Incidents occurred in 22 municipalities.
Earlier, Governor Andrei Vorobyov called on all relevant services to strengthen monitoring of fire safety in the forests of the region.
