More than 13.5 thousand people entered the contract service in June

Since the beginning of June, more than 13,500 Russians have been recruited for military service under a contract — three times more than in April 2023. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“For ten days of the current month, more than 13.5 thousand people were accepted for the contract, which is 2.1 times more than in the same period in May, and 3.1 times more than in April 2023,” — Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolai Pankov said at a conference call on the recruitment of the Russian Armed Forces by military personnel under the contract.

There is also an increase in the number of citizens wishing to join volunteer formations, of which there are more than 40. Of the sixteen regions, Moscow, Sevastopol, Chechnya and Sakhalin were among the leaders in the recruitment of contract soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry specified.
