Reports of an extension of the grain deal for more than 60 days are false. So said the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky.
The relevant information appeared on Saturday, March 18. The diplomat published on his page on the social network Twitter the statement of the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation Vasily Nebenzi to the UN leadership that the Black Sea initiative is being extended for 60 days.
“Any claims that this is being extended beyond 60 days are wishful thinking or intentional manipulation,” Polyansky said.
Former press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova clarified the timing of the grain deal: the initiative has been extended for 60 days, the diplomat stressed.
