Missing helicopters near Krasnoyarsk could disappear due to disabled transponders

Two private helicopters disappeared near Norilsk. Aircraft are no longer detected by radar. According to one version, transponders could be turned off on board. It is these devices that are needed for helicopters to be tracked by radar, TASS reported.

Recall that one of the helicopters flew from Norilsk to the Putoransky Reserve. There were tourists on board. Both aircraft have the same owner.
