Houthi fighters from Yemen launched a missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. Although no significant damage occurred attack caused panic forcing thousands of Israelis to seek shelter in bunkers.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces had carried out airstrikes in Yemen, targeting an airport and other locations. At least six Yemenis were killed in these strikes. In retaliation Houthis launched their missile attack.

Conflict between Yemen and Israel has escalated in recent years, particularly after the fall of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime. Both sides have increased retaliatory strikes. Following recent attack Israeli government has ordered the elimination of Houthi leaders.
Missile strike temporarily disrupted operations at Israel’s main airport for 30 minutes. Reports indicate that 18 people were injured while heading to shelters with two in critical condition.
Houthi forces, reportedly backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for missile strike, calling it a response to Israeli airstrikes in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a. Israel’s advanced air defense system failed to intercept missile raising concerns about its effectiveness.

On Thursday, Israeli airstrikes targeted Sana’a’s airport, a military base, and a power station, causing casualties and widespread damage. World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus who in area escaped unharmed though one crew member injured.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue military operations until all threats are neutralized. “Those who aim to harm Israel will not find peace,” Netanyahu stated.
