Mishustin spoke about the plans of the Russian auto industry for the next four years

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that in the coming years, car production in the country should exceed 1.3 million cars per year. At the same time, more than 70% of sales should come from cars produced in Russia. The head of government made this statement during a lecture as part of the “Knowledge. Lecture hall.”

“The primary task is to restart the sites of departed foreign companies. In the next 3-4 years, it is necessary to ensure growth in the production of domestic cars at a level of over 1.3 million cars per year. More than 70% of sales should be made by us,” Mishustin emphasized.

According to him, Russia has been inferior to other countries in this industry for a long time. Russians more often purchased foreign cars. often they chose imported cars. Now the industry has been hit hard by sanctions, which has led to the impossibility of releasing a number of brands outside Russia that occupied a significant market share.

“In accordance with the development strategy of the automotive industry, one of the goals is to deepen localization through the development of scientific and engineering competencies. And, as a result, competitive, component production,” the Prime Minister noted, adding that for this it is necessary to attract industrial partners who are interested in the production of highly localized equipment.
