The Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy has launched a management portal on Friday to connect back the children who have dropped out of the school system due to the Corona epidemic. Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said on the occasion, “This initiative is under the holistic education policy of the Government of India. Apart from this, we have also emphasized in Right to Education and New National Education Policy that children who have dropped out of the school system should be connected with mainstream schools. Through the management portal, we will be able to collect the data of such children in a better way and will be successful in connecting the children to school education. Apart from this, for the first time, we have also made a provision of financial assistance for the children from the economically weaker section of 16 to 18 years from 2021-22 so that the children who have dropped out of the education system at this age can also get access to open learning or distance learning. to get a chance to complete their education. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are fully committed to fulfill the vision of the new National Education Policy and will try our best to ensure that no child in the country is left out of the education system.”
For this, the education department has directed the states and union territories to collect the data of such children so that it can be monitored properly. Apart from this, the department has also made provision of financial assistance for arranging special training to bridge the gap in the education of such children. Till now this financial assistance was made available for children of 6 to 14 years, but from 2021-22 this assistance will also be made available for the children of economically weaker section of 16-18 years so that they can learn through open or distance learning. to continue his education.
The data of the children will be uploaded at the block level by the Block Resource Coordinator of the Block Resource Center and then that data will be uploaded on the management portal after getting it verified by the District Magistrate/District Collector or the officer designated by the District Magistrate.
