The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation commented on the strike on the territory of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) on August 5. In this regard, the military department stated that Kyiv’s “provocations” in relation to nuclear power facilities have become systemic. At the same time, the UN continues to prevent the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from monitoring the state of the ZNPP, also reported in the Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, the pro-Russian authorities of Energodar reported a fire on the territory of the ZNPP, saying that the cause was an artillery strike by the Ukrainian military. Kyiv, in turn, accused the Russian military of shelling.
Today, August 6, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed concern about the shelling of the ZNPP.
