The military assistance provided by NATO to Kyiv makes the countries of the alliance a party to the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated today, February 9, by the director of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Polishchuk in an interview with RTVI.
“The transfer of weapons, satellite and intelligence data to Ukraine, participation in the planning and implementation of military operations, entry into hostilities under the guise of PMCs and military instructors, of course, makes the NATO countries a party to the conflict,” he stressed.
“The actual participation of the alliance in hostilities was confirmed by the German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbockwhich, during a speech in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on January 25, explicitly stated: “We are at war against Russia”, Polischuk pointed out.
When asked whether Russia perceives Ukraine as a de facto member of the alliance, Polishchuk replied that Ukraine’s unprecedented high level of interaction with NATO is obvious.
“Given the volume of military and financial support for Kyiv from the countries of the bloc, the formal participation or non-participation of Ukraine in the alliance does not matter. Today, Ukraine, if not formally a member of it, is in fact deeply integrated into the alliance, since it plays the role of a NATO tool, the main purpose of which is to cause maximum damage to Russia,” he noted.
The director of the department drew attention to the fact that in order to achieve this goal, the regime of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky sacrifices hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, whom he and his Western masters regard as “cannon fodder”.
“Recently, there was information in the media that the total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 257 thousand people,” Polishchuk said, quoted by TASS.
