Mikhail Mishustin promised to consider the issue of banning vapes

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during the presentation of a report on the work of the government for 2022 in the State Duma, promised that the Cabinet of Ministers would consider the issue of banning vapes and form a position.

With a request to support the ban on vaping, he was approached by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. He stressed that it is necessary to “save children” and noted that this is the general position of the State Duma. “Yes, let’s look at it. We will form a position, of course,” Mr. Mishustin replied.

Head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko, who is also present at the event, added that the ministry always supports activities aimed at increasing life expectancy and reducing the harmful factor.

On January 18, Vyacheslav Volodin instructed relevant committees to study the issue of a possible ban on vapes. On the same day, the State Duma in the second and third readings adopted a law on increasing excise taxes on cigarettes and cigarettes, heating tobacco and liquids for vapes. At the same time, the excise tax on vapes is canceled by the document.
