The Law on Youth Policy is planned to be updated, supplementing it, among other things, with chapters on the creation of youth centers and youth support. Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, spoke about this in an interview with Parliamentary Newspaper.
The Committee is now discussing amendments to the law on youth policy. According to the deputy, it is planned to be seriously updated.
“We received 1,065 proposals from young people, processed them together with the legislative assemblies of the regions and sent them to the Government. In response, we received more than a hundred comments, which we are now working on together with the relevant departments, ”he said.
In particular, it is planned to add a chapter to the law on youth infrastructure – youth centers and spaces. Then state bodies will be obliged to create and develop them, Artem Metelev explained.
In addition, it is planned to include in the law a chapter on measures to support youth. “Federal, regional and municipal authorities will be responsible for supporting young people in the countryside, in sports, culture, education, and other sectors,” the head of the committee noted.
According to him, the deputies expect to prepare a working version of the bill by the end of October, and submit it to the State Duma by the end of the year.
The full text of the interview will be published on the Parlamentskaya Gazeta website at a later date.
