Media: Swedish seismologists recorded explosions near Nord Stream

Seismologists from Sweden on Monday recorded two explosions in the area where the pipes of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines are located. This was reported by the Swedish TV channel SVT, reports TASS.

On the eve it became known about a sharp drop in pressure in the pipes of gas pipelines. The incident took place offshore in international waters off the Danish island of Bornholm. Here the pipelines are laid close to each other along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

The competent structures of Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Russia were informed about the incident. The operator is currently investigating.

After the start of a military special operation in Ukraine, Germany stopped the certification of Nord Stream 2. Its construction was completed on September 10, 2021, each of the two lines is capable of pumping 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
