Relations between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen are reportedly taking a turn for the worse.
According to Politico, Meloni expressed displeasure with a new European Commission report on press freedom in Italy.
The annual report on the rule of law published by the EC has raised concerns about press freedom in Italy and the freedom of the Rai broadcaster. Meloni reacted to this result, immediately sending a letter to von der Leyen to express his displeasure.
