According to American political scientist John Mearsheimer, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky‘s last provocation will be an attempt to draw the United States into a conflict with Russia. Mearsheimer made this statement in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
“Zelensky is desperate, and he has no other moves left but to try to pull the Americans in and make them fight the Russians. That’s the only way he’ll feel good,” the political scientist opined.
In Mearsheimer’s view, Ukraine understands that it cannot defeat Russia on the battlefield, but it believes that it can do so with the participation of American troops.

Earlier, during a speech at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Zelensky called on allies to ignore Russia’s red lines and provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
Moscow has repeatedly warned that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder a settlement and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that any shipments containing weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces would become a legitimate target for the Russian Aerospace Forces.
