Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said that senators work as observers at referendums in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine. According to her, international observers are also invited to the referendums.
“Everything is ready for voting at the highest possible level, international observers have been invited, Russian senators are also working as observers. I contacted them, and, as my colleagues say, in terms of organization, there is simply nothing to complain about objectively, ”Ms. Matvienko told reporters (quoted from “RIA News”).
Referendums on joining Russia as a subject are held from September 23 to 27 in the DPR and LPR, as well as in the Russian-controlled territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine. In the West, they said that they would not recognize the results of the referendums and would introduce new sanctions if they were held.
