The Law on Youth Policy has been in force for two years already, and it is already possible to sum up the first results of the implementation of this norm. This was announced on March 21 by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko at the plenary session of the Chamber of Young Legislators in the Chamber of Regions.

She noted that for more than ten years of the history of the Youth Chamber, where the regions of Russia delegate their representatives, many specific initiatives of its representatives have already been implemented. Thus, she called the adoption in December 2020 of the law on state youth policy, which was developed and initiated with the direct participation of young parliamentarians, a great achievement.

“The law has been in force for two years now. And, in my opinion, it is already possible to sum up the first results of the implementation of this federal law and think about how to strengthen it, supplement it, taking into account the realities of today, ”said Matvienko.

Following the meeting of the State Council on December 22, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government to develop an updated strategy for the implementation of youth policy by the end of the year. “Its content, of course, should correlate with the provisions of the basic law. Here, your suggestions could also be useful, ”the chairman of the Federation Council emphasized.
