Blackcurrant contains a huge amount of vitamin C, which helps maintain the elasticity of blood vessels. This was stated by the therapist Elena Malysheva on the air of the program “Live healthy”.
Thanks to the vitamin C content, blackcurrant also protects against heart attacks and strokes, the specialist added. Cardiologist German Gandelman, in turn, noted that the berry, among other things, neutralizes free radicals, which prevents the development of cancer.
“A vessel without vitamin C, it is fragile. And if it is fragile, then it will burst, which means there will be hemorrhages, heart attacks and strokes, ”Malysheva explained.
Earlier, Malysheva warned about such a dangerous symptom as reddening of the palms. According to her, this may indicate the development of cirrhosis of the liver.
