Major military exercises begin in Romania

Large-scale multinational exercises “Saber Guardian 23” with the participation of 10 thousand soldiers from 13 countries, as well as 1.7 thousand pieces of equipment will begin in Romania on May 29, the press service of the country’s defense ministry said.

“About 10,000 soldiers will take part in the multinational exercises Saber Guardian 23 (SG23), which will be held from May 29 to June 9, of which more than five thousand Romanian soldiers, with more than 1.7 thousand technical equipment from our country and 13 allied and partner countries”, — reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense.

The ministry clarified that this is the largest and most complex multinational exercise planned for this year, which will take place at training grounds and military installations in Romania. The military from Albania, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Moldova, the USA and the Netherlands will take part in them.

Training activities include tactical ground movements, forcing watercourses, tactical exercises with and without live firing, using equipment from all categories of troops, parachuting, as well as medical evacuation and treatment of the wounded.
