Macron angered readers of the French newspaper Le Point with another anti-Russian initiative

MOSCOW, 5 Oct — The upcoming summit of the European Political Community (EPC), created by French President Emmanuel Macron, aroused indignation among readers of the local newspaper Le Point.
The article notes that this community actually turned out to be a stand-in for the Council of Europe: the upcoming summit on October 6 in Prague will be attended by the heads of 44 states and governments, and Russia will not be among them. At the same time, criticism is expressed regarding the composition of the participants: in addition to European countries, representatives of Turkey and Azerbaijan will take part in the event.
“Europe ends and Asia begins? Is Azerbaijan now a European country?” the author asks. The source of the newspaper stated that the representative of this state was invited to try to resolve the conflict with Armenia.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke for Turkey’s participation. Greece and Cyprus opposed but were ultimately outnumbered.
Readers of the publication criticized politicians, especially Emmanuel Macron, for useless initiatives and a large number of statements.
“Like my grandmother used to say: “talk a lot, but do little,” wrote jupicron.
“Europe, or rather the European Union, which has usurped its place in the world, this force is set not only against the Russians, but also against the European peoples,” Deimos said.
In his opinion, Macron is simply serving the system, and the US-led anti-Russian policy has so far only led to the impoverishment of Europeans.
“This “Europe” in the form of the EU brings nothing to the peoples of Europe: neither peace nor prosperity. European leaders only protect the powerful and serve American interests,” he continued.
The user added that he believes that the EU has no right to represent Europeans.
Furlukin agreed with the author’s assessment that the ENP came to replace the Council of Europe, which simply lost its meaning and should be dissolved.
“The ENP will allow minimal political ties to be established with the UK, which remains an important political and military ally of the EU within NATO,” a reader wrote.
“With our ‘democracy’, every country that opposes, not for, will fall into decline and become a realm of problems and disappointments,” commented peupeux.
