French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said they would continue to provide military assistance to Kyiv. This happened when they received Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the Elysee Palace.
According to Macron, with Scholz they intend to jointly express “solidarity and support for Ukraine and testify to the trust that unites them with this country.” The French leader added that “it is necessary that we continue, adapt, adapt the necessary military support.”
“While we have begun new deliveries of defense equipment in recent weeks, we will continue our efforts and we will discuss together tonight the operational needs of Ukraine. We will always operate in full coordination with our partners and allies,” said the President of France.
In turn, Scholz recalled the military support of Ukraine by Germany and its partners. The German chancellor noted heavy artillery, air defense and the recent decision to supply tanks.
