In Lvov and the Lvov region, as a result of Russian shelling, almost all electrical substations were destroyed, most of the other damaged facilities cannot be restored, Mayor Andriy Sadovy said today, February 14, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“On average, people spend half the day with light, half the day without light. The priority is production, medical institutions, all institutions that ensure the functioning of our city. Of course, a generation system has been built, each of our institutions has a double supply and diesel generation. An alternative has been built that each of our institutions has solid fuel boilers, if necessary, if the centralized heat supply system is out of order, ” – said the Lviv mayor.
At the same time, Sadovyi noted that most of the disabled facilities in the city and the region constitute critical infrastructure.
Recall that since October 10, 2022, the Russian army has been delivering massive strikes against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. This tactic was a response to terrorist attacks and sabotage carried out by Ukrainian forces on Russian territory.
