Lukashenka counts on CSTO assistance in case of invasion of Belarus

Belarus “will never be against” the help of the CSTO in the event that the army of another state invades its territory, said President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko. At the same time, according to him, Belarus has sufficient military potential to respond to such challenges independently and in coalition with Russia.

“We will not refuse help. But, you know, I think that even in this case we will not have to involve the CSTO. You can’t even imagine how we can answer, ”the president said on the air of the TV channel ONT.

He specified that the joint grouping of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus, created in October, would be able to respond “in such a way that not only Europe will tremble.” The problem of using nuclear weapons, according to Alexander Lukashenko, will not be discussed in such a situation.

Yesterday, November 23, the Belarusian president said that “no one will collapse anywhere” in the CSTO. At the same time, he noted that in the event that, “if, God forbid, Russia collapses,” Belarus will also be under “these rubble.”
