Lukashenka agreed with Putin that now is not the time to introduce a single currency

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the adoption of a common currency with Russia is “not a matter of today.” The Belarusian leader said this at a meeting with Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina.

“The fact that we have the Interbank Currency Council (of the Central Bank of Russia and the National Bank of Belarus – approx. Life), there are no questions. I often quote you, our chairman, at the level of heads of state when it comes to creating a single currency and so on, that this is not an easy process. And probably not today, as we agreed with the President of Russia,”quotes Lukashenka BelTA.
