Lithuanian railways intend to stop the transit of a number of goods through Kaliningrad. The corresponding statement was made by the governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov.
We are talking about railway cargo that fell under the sanctions restrictions of the European Union. According to Alikhanov, this decision comes into force from tomorrow. The head of the region announced this in his Telegram channel.
“Lithuanian Railways notified the Kaliningrad Railway that from 0000 tomorrow they will stop transiting a large list of goods from the Kaliningrad Region and to the Kaliningrad Region from other regions of the Russian Federation that are subject to European sanctions,” Alikhanov said.
Earlier, the Austrian authorities declared their readiness for any outcome on Russian gas. According to the Ministry of Energy of the country, we are also talking about a complete cessation of supplies.
