Lithuania demanded to immediately begin negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to NATO. This was stated by Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte.
“Negotiations on the admission of Ukraine to NATO should begin immediately,” she stressed, reports Business Insider. According to her, the alliance is in a “moral duty” to Ukraine.
Earlier, the heads of nine NATO countries called for the speedy admission of Ukraine into the ranks of the alliance. The document was signed by the presidents of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. They also called for increased military aid to Kyiv.
