Life safety teacher in Nizhny Tagil suspended from work for hitting fifth-graders with a stick on the legs and a palm in the face

At school No. 58 in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region), during a lesson, a OBZh teacher hit fifth-grade students several times with a stick in the legs and with his palm in the face. The case was caught on a video that was published in the community on VKontakte “The Nizhny Tagil Incident”.

The investigative department of the ICR for the Sverdlovsk region, which organized the check, drew attention to messages in social networks and the media. In the press service of the department reportedthat investigators are now interviewing the injured children, eyewitnesses of the incident and representatives of the school. The severity of the harm caused to the health of adolescents is also being clarified.

The incident was reported to the head of the TFR, Alexander Bastrykin, who instructed to the head of the Sverdlovsk department, Mikhail Boginsky, to submit a report on the results of the audit.

In the city hall of Nizhny Tagil portal E1.ru declaredthat at the time of the check the OBZh teacher was suspended. The school management apologized to parents and children for the behavior of the teacher.
