Russian special operation in Ukraine
When retreating from Bakhmut (Artemovsk), the Armed Forces of Ukraine will go to Chasov Yar, where they have a second line of defense. A retired lieutenant colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR, military expert Andrey Marochko told about this in an interview with URA.RU.
“The retreat route from Artemovsk for the Ukrainian troops is, in principle, not many-sided. They don’t have many options. In fact, they will retreat to the west. In the same Chasov Yar, where they have a second line of defense. They need to return to previously prepared positions. They are located near the village of Chasov Yar, on its northern and southern sides,” Andriy Marochko explained.
At the same time, a retired lieutenant colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have disadvantageous positions in the north and south of Bakhmut. “A withdrawal to the north and south is undesirable for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Because there are extremely unfavorable positions for them,” Marochko stressed.
Earlier, a Ukrainian serviceman with the call sign “Magyar” said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lose one or two companies every day in Bakhmut. Kyiv called the situation in the city threatening for the fighters, but not yet critical, Reuters reported, citing Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Rakhmanin.
