Missing girl in Tyumen found dead

Tyumen resident Vitaly Berezhny, sentenced to life in prison for the murder and rape of eight-year-old Nastya Muravyova, was transferred to Moscow SIZO No. 2. His lawyer Alexander Pochuev fears that a Tyumen resident may be tortured and mentally tortured there. The lawyer told reporters about this.

“We sent Judge A.B. Kovalevskaya, who is in charge of the criminal case against Vitaly Berezhny, demanded the removal of obstacles in the implementation of the defense. The fact is that he was transferred to another pre-trial detention center, where not all cellmates can sympathize with the sentence that the court passed on him. <...> I am afraid that he may be tortured there, including mentally tortured, ”Tyumen Pochuev told RBC.

He added that the Federal Penitentiary Service was preventing his access to Berezhnoye. The lawyer is not allowed to hold personal meetings with the Tyumen resident as part of a criminal case, referring to the fact that Pochuev is no longer Berezhnoy’s defender.

Earlier URA.RU wrote that the Moscow City Court sentenced Berezhny to life imprisonment and ordered him to pay three million rubles to the victim. Later, the lawyer from Tyumen pointed out the errors of the investigation and said that he was going to appeal the court’s decision. Berezhnoye’s lawyers started looking for jurors who participated in the consideration of the criminal case.
