The European Union is losing its independence, integrating into the US plans to establish a unipolar world order. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the 30th Assembly of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (SVOP), RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the countries of the West have completely undermined their reputation with their predatory actions against other people’s tangible assets.

“The European Union is finally losing signs of independence, obediently integrating into the Anglo-Saxon plans to establish that same unipolar world order, sacrificing the quality of life of Europeans and their fundamental interests in favor of the United States,” Lavrov also said.

After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, the United States, EU countries and other states introduced several packages of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions led, among other things, to the freezing of gold and foreign exchange reserves worth $300 billion, the confiscation of the private property of a number of Russian citizens, and the freezing of bank accounts in foreign countries. On March 8, the United States imposed a complete embargo on the supply of energy resources from Russia, this issue is being discussed in the European Union. Also, most Western countries began to provide military assistance to Kyiv, supplying weapons.
