Kyiv wants to strangle the pro-Russian enclave with terrorist attacks in Transnistria — EADaily — News of Transnistria. Transnistria news. News Moldova. Moldova news. Transnistria. Moldova. Moldova. News. Moldova latest news.

Ukraine is interested in shaking the situation in Transnistria, “breaking the thread” from the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement and in this way to involve Moldova in a regional conflict. Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, stated this in an interview with the Russian edition of today, March 10.

According to him, the preparation of a terrorist attack in Tiraspol with a planned assassination attempt on the President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, was beneficial precisely to the Ukrainian side.

“To a lesser extent, this is beneficial for Moldova, because it entails consequences that may affect the support of Maia Sandu, her position. Without a formal invitation from the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine cannot start an operation against Transnistria. But, of course, Ukraine would like to provoke some kind of development of events that will make it inevitable for Moldova to be involved in the conflict,” Zatulin stated.

According to the politician, what Chisinau is doing is no longer enough for Kiev, adopting a “law on separatism”, whipping up hysteria in relations with Russia and supporting Ukraine in transit through its territory. Therefore, of course, the attempted terrorist attack in Tiraspol needs a thorough investigation.

“This does not fully suit the people who are sitting in Kyiv. They would like more. Today they are interested in defiantly strangling Pridnestrovie and requisitioning this “pro-Russian enclave” – this is how Pridnestrovie is usually called in the West and Ukraine,” Konstantin Zatulin concluded.

Recall that the State Security of Transnistria told that the other day it neutralized a terrorist group that was preparing a major terrorist attack in Tiraspol. It was aimed against representatives of the leadership of the republic and civilians. According to investigators, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) are behind the organization of the terrorist attack.

As reported EADaily at the direction of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky The Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry sent official appeals to the Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova, the Secretary General and permanent members of the UN Security Council, as well as participants in the 5+2 negotiation format. Tiraspol is waiting for official explanations from Kyiv about the plans of the SBU to commit a terrorist attack in the republic, and from the world community to condemn terrorist methods and take “effective international measures to reduce tension and ensure the safety of all residents of Transnistria.”
