In Kurgan, the leaders of the regional department of education Andrey Kocherov and the military registration and enlistment office of the region Airat Zaripov, as well as the chairman of the city duma Igor Prozorov and deputy Anastasia Romanovich, came to the action “Candle of Memory” on May 8, among others. This was reported by a URA.RU correspondent who attended the event.

“Today we all gathered to remember those who did not live to see the moment of victory the day before. Our countrymen fought bravely, we are proud of their exploits. I am very glad that a lot of veterans and not only law enforcement officers have gathered here today. I am glad that young people have come,” Andrey Kocherov, director of the regional department of education and science, said during his speech.

Earlier it became known that the Victory Parade and traditional fireworks would not be held in the Kurgan region on May 9. At the same time, security measures will be strengthened on this day.
