The Kurgan region will receive a vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella for children in October 2023. The Department of Health of the Kurgan Region reported this to URA.RU in response to a request.
“Immunization of children as part of the schedule of preventive vaccinations against measles, mumps and rubella is carried out at the expense of the federal budget. In accordance with the concluded contracts, the vaccine will arrive in the region before October 20, 2023,” the department’s response says.
Earlier in Kurgan, parents noted that children are not given routine measles vaccinations because there is no vaccine. The Department of Health also explained that combination vaccines are used to immunize children. Thanks to them, the injection load on the child is reduced. Vaccination with single drugs is used in exceptional cases. For vaccination, the vaccine produced by the domestic manufacturer NPO Microgen JSC is used.
Earlier, URA.RU wrote that the Kurgan region plans to purchase an updated vaccine against coronavirus infection when such a vaccine goes on the market. An increase in detected cases of infection is now being recorded in the region: over the past week there were 36 cases.
