Russian special operation in Ukraine

Requests from countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East region to Kyiv to compromise with Moscow are meaningless. So says the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba.

“It is unrealistic to suggest that Ukraine will sacrifice its people, territory and sovereignty in exchange for nominal peace. These latest calls for compromise are just a side effect of growing fatigue,” Kuleba was quoted by the American magazine Foreign Affairs as saying.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry explained the requests of countries to stop resisting the Russian Federation by the fact that the states want to unblock grain exports. “They want to sacrifice the independence of Ukraine for this,” the minister stressed.

Earlier, the German agency Welt wrote that the leaders of the leading EU countries, when visiting Kyiv, asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The media explained this by the fact that the economic damage that their countries are suffering due to the conflict is becoming greater and more difficult to compensate.

Russia had previously launched a special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Vladimir Putin said that its goal is to protect the inhabitants of Donbass from genocide. The head of state noted that civilians in the DPR and LPR suffered from the constant punitive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
