The current president of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev has been re-elected for a new term.
According to the press service of the organization, the functionary remained the only candidate in the elections after the non-admission of the Dutchman Boris van der Furst. Elections were held at a congress in Istanbul.
Last month, the Independent Boxing Integrity Unit’s (BIIU) nominating committee received a complaint that van der First did not meet a number of eligibility requirements.
Recall that Kremlev was elected president of the IBA in the winter of 2020.
