Khattar talks about tit for tat during BJP s Kisan Morcha meet Opposition slams remarks

Did Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar ask the members of the BJP Kisan Morcha to lift sticks and give a befitting reply to the farmers protesting against the agricultural laws? A video clip of Khattar has been accompanied by an allegation from the opposition and the United Kisan Morcha. They say that the Chief Minister is instigating the workers of the saffron party to attack the farmers protesting against the three agricultural laws.

A video of Khattar’s statement is going viral on social media. The opposition and the United Kisan Morcha, comprising 40 farmers’ organisations, alleged that the chief minister had asked BJP supporters to lift sticks to the protesting farmers. Regarding the impact of the farmers’ agitation in the program, Khattar said that there is not much problem in South Haryana and it is limited in the northern and western districts.

In the video, Khattar says, “Make groups of 500, 700, 1000 farmers and make them volunteers. And then everywhere sathe satheyam samacharet (like ko tit), pick up the sticks.” He continues, “Don’t worry. When you stay in jail for one month, three months or six months, you will become a great leader. Your name will be recorded in history.

The Congress has also criticized Khattar’s statement. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted, Mr. Khattar ji, your guru mantra of helping BJP supporters to attack the agitating farmers with sticks, go to jail and become a leader from there will never be successful. This call to spread anarchy in an open program by taking oath of the constitution is treason. Modi-Nadda ji also seems to agree.
