Justice Department asks court to release search warrant at Trump estate

Attorney General and Attorney General Merrick Garland said he personally approved a search of the estate of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. According to him, the Ministry of Justice applied to the court to publish this document.

“I personally approved the decision to issue a search warrant in this case. The ministry does not take such decisions lightly,” Mr. Garland told reporters (quoted by AFP). He denounced the “baseless attacks” on the FBI following the search.

On August 9, FBI agents raided Trump’s Florida residence without warning. According to the ex-president, this is due to his possible participation in the presidential elections in 2024. A number of American media claimed that the search may be related to the possible negligence of Donald Trump in terms of handling classified information. Earlier, the US National Archives and Records Administration said that there were 15 boxes of records containing classified information on the estate.
