U.S. President Joe Biden admitted on Friday that he was unsure how to maintain stability in Europe and globally without US involvement.

“I don’t see how we support stability in Europe and around world without strong US-German relationships”, Biden said before beginning closed-door talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Biden, 81, added that US-German alliance was global in scope, stretching “far beyond Ukraine and Europe”.
Trip to Germany comes as Biden discusses Ukrainian crisis and situation in the Middle East with world leaders, as well as participates in bilateral talks with Chancellor Scholz and French President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
However, according to Steffen Hebestreit, a German government spokesperson, a new joint initiative on Ukraine is not anticipated following Biden’s meeting with Scholz.
