There should be no problems in connection with the suspension of imports of contact lenses in the country. As the ophthalmologist Vyacheslav Kurenkov recalled in an interview with NEWS.ruRussia has its own production of optics.

“I believe that our country should provide itself with such things. Glasses have always been an alternative to lenses, we have our own products, the plant in St. Petersburg has always been famous for good optical products with high technology. I think our industry will cope with the shortage of those patients who are going to wear glasses or contact lenses, said the specialist.

He believes that focusing on Western products did not allow the development of the corresponding domestic direction, but now our manufacturers have every chance to make themselves known.
