Israeli warplanes launched devastating airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport in Yemen on Wednesday, completely destroying the last civilian aircraft operated by Yemenia Airways, according to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah media.

The attack targeted four runways in four separate strikes, severely damaging critical infrastructure at Yemen’s main airport. The assault came in direct response to a Houthi ballistic missile attack on Israel the previous day, escalating the ongoing tit-for-tat conflict.
Israeli military led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, justified the strikes as a countermeasure to Houthi aggression, with Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz stating, “Whoever fires at the State of Israel will pay a heavy price.” The operation, named “Golden Jewel,” targeted what Israel claims are Houthi-controlled facilities used for terrorist activities, including weapons transfers.
