Recent ceasefire had provided Gaza’s 2.3 million residents a brief period of calm during Ramadan. However, this deadly assault reignited fear and panic. Israeli forces claimed strikes targeted Hamas positions. But most casualties included women, children, and civilians seeking shelter in refugee camps and residential areas.
Among the victims was senior Hamas commander Mohammad Abu Watfa, confirmed by the Palestinian resistance group. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the strikes aimed to free hostages held by Hamas. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant supported the military action, intensifying regional tensions.
White House confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump approved the attack adding that Washington views Hamas, Houthi rebels, and Iran as equal threats.

As violence erupted in Gaza, U.S. warplanes struck Houthi targets in Yemen. In response, Houthi forces launched missiles at U.S. aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. President Trump warned that U.S. airstrikes would continue unless Houthi aggression ceased.
Escalating conflict has reignited global concerns about peace in the region leaving Gaza residents once again trapped in a cycle of violence and loss.
